Colombo city tour in a Tuk-Tuk

A tuk-tuk ride is the fun way to sightsee the wonders of the city of Colombo. The city safari on three wheelsstarts with a visit to a Hindu Kovil where one can observe the intricate architecture and take a glimpse of the happenings within. Then proceed to the floating market where the trade stalls, some established on boats selllocal produce and handicrafts. Riding through the crisscrossing crowded streets of Pettah is fun, yet challenging. Each street is popular for a particular product like Sea Street for Gold and Jewelry and so on making it convenient to shop. After all the travel hassle a stop at the wayside juice bar for refreshing drink is certainly very welcome. Next visit the old Colombo Dutch Hospital considered the oldest building in Colombo Fort (now a shopping & dining precinct) for a Sri Lankan tea experience. Take in the sunset and indulge in some memorable photography before leaving for the revered Gangarama Temple. After which indulge in some yummy hoppers (a local delicacy) before setting off for the Independence Square, (a memorial hall built to commemorate the Independence of Sri Lanka from British rule) and take a short stroll through the Arcade - Independence Square for some elite shopping.

And if it's Saturday then a visit to the “Good Market” selling fresh organic and natural foods, non-toxic merchandises and other ethical productssupporting local enterprises and responsible businesses,is a must.
