The Dutch House
Constructed along the lines of the early 18C Cape Dutch bungalows, the Dutch House is a tastefully designed two-story villa. Set on a an expansive garden filled with fruit trees and flowering plants that attract many birds, it has been a highly-praised boutique property which encompasses a distinct local feel, with the use of antiques, art and soft furnishings that are locally sourced. The villa is designed with a satin wood and ebony staircase, boarded floors and a spacious verandah that lets you take in the mountainous scenery. The Dutch House offers well-appointed bedrooms, Sri Lankan cuisine and an informal and relaxing ambience, with 24 hour buttler service and a chef on site. The Dutch House can accommodate up to four guests and is ideal for couples, friends travelling together and families with children over the age of 10. The rooms can be hired individually or the villa can be hired as a whole.
The villa is booked on a half-board basis. The scenic towns of Ella and Haputale are half an hour away. Bandarawela is linked by the railway to Nuwara Eliya, Hatton, Kandy and Colombo.
