Walk from Nuwara Eliya to Ella
If you are a trekking enthusiastic this is an ideal trip for you. This is one night and two days trip. The embarking journey starts at Nuwara Eliya and you will be transferred to Horton plains National Park entrance gate and the trekking journey will last for approximately four hours. You will be seeing some of the best sceneries that an ordinary traveler wouldn't witness.
Inside Horton Plains national park you will see world's end Bakers Falls and Chiminy Pools which starting point of most of major rivers in Sri Lanka during this trek you will be served a picnic meal.
After finishing the trek at Horton plains you will be transferred to Ohiya and descend to another remote tea estate and for the overnight you will be transferred to home stay. Do not expect commercial luxury in this place because it's very basic homestay but place is very clean. You would be greeted and treated well by the caretaker and the cook , sing songs and have a warm dinner with Sri Lankan rice and curry share the experience with them.
After the overnight stay we will transfer to near a forest which is very scenic and end of the forest you will enter a remote tea estate with lot of village ladies work on tea estates. These villages are originally brought to Sri Lanka by India to work in tea estates at the time of colonial era. You can witness their lifestyle. After that you will be transferred to Haputale and trek through a protected rainforest and end of this trek you will be trekking to Ella and you will be passing tea estates, villages gushing waterfalls, rail roads and forest patches.
The final destination of the trek will be Ella which is a small town and full of Natural beauty Grand vistas stretch as far as the eye can see finally, we are at the end of our two days trekking trip of Sri Lanka’s central highlands.
